Occupational therapists are clinically trained to assess each child's sensory needs and preferences. We analyze how a child's sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor and social skills affect their ability to participate and succeed in a classroom setting. We create annual goals for each child to address these difficulties to foster more independent learning and active participation.
The Sensory Learning Center operates on a rolling admission basis. We understand that previous childcare or preschool options may not have been the best fit or are no longer adequate to meet your child's needs and goals. We are here to help at any point in the school year.
No, however, many of our children also receive individual speech and/or occupational therapy services. We are located in a sensory gym within Wellesley Pediatric Speech and Occupational Therapy and consult with their therapists frequently. This streamlines the communication process among educators and individual therapy providers. Please click on the "individual services" tab at the top of the page for more information.
The Sensory Learning Center runs a 9-week summer therapy group in July and August. There is a 4 week minimum to enroll.
